AGO/Quimby 2007 Regional Competitions For Young Organists

This competition is sponsored and administered by the nine regions of the American Guild of Organists. The first round of competition begins at the chapter level. Competitors may compete in any chapter competition held within the AGO region of their home or school. The final round is held as one of the opening events of the Region VII Convention at the historic First United Methodist Church in downtown Dallas. The First Place Winner will be presented in recital on the new Quimby pipe organ at Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church in Richardson.
Prizes at the Chapter level vary, but the First place winner of the Regional Competition receives $1,000 prize and the Second Place winner receives $500. The AGO/Quimby Regional Competitions for Young Organists are made possible by a generous grant from Michael Quimby, President, Quimby Pipe Organs, Inc.
The official rules governing this competition were published in the April 2006 issue of THE AMERICAN ORGANIST and complete information and registration forms are available from National Headquarters. Competitors must be under 23 years of age as of August 1, 2007.
